Kendro centralizes US manufacturing and distribution operations

Asheville, NC June 10, 2003 Kendro Laboratory Products says it is centralizing its manufacturing and distribution operations with a view to providing improved, integrated services to customers and business partners, including those in Canada.

Assembly and distribution warehouse operations for centrifuges, safety cabinets and incubators are to be transferred from Newtown, CT to the company’s advanced line manufacturing facility in Asheville, NC, over the next eight months. The re-location will parallel the creation of an expanded worldwide headquarters in Asheville, and centralizes the skills and expertise of personnel supporting Kendro’s entire product range.

"This integration will ensure that we can continue developing and enhancing the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing and distribution processes that our customers expect," comments John Hare, senior VP of operations. "The concentration of our development capabilities including a new facility in Langenselbold, Germany, and producing centers of R&D excellence assures our continued position as a leader in the laboratory equipment industry," he adds.

Kendro Laboratory Products specializes in products and services for life and material science, drug discovery and bio processing. Its brands include Sorvall, Revco, Lindberg/BlueM, Jewett, Heraeus, Harris and Carr. The company is a unit of SPX Corporation.
