Infrastructure fund awards $45M to 312 researchers

Ottawa, ON – The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) has awarded $45.45 million infrastructure support funding to 312 researchers across the country.

The support is provided under the Leaders Opportunity Fund, which was designed to provide infrastructure to attract researchers to Canadian institutions at a time of intense international competition for knowledge workers.

In all, researchers at 44 different institutions, working on 251 different projects will receive the lab and equipment funding.

“Investing in cutting-edge labs, equipment, and technology has transformed Canada’s research landscape over the past decade,” said Dr Eliot Phillipson, president and CEO of the CFI. “The CFI keeps pace with this transformation to ensure Canadian research institutions and their researchers remain world class.”

A detailed list of researchers and projects awarded is available on the CFI’s website at www.innovation.ca.
