Opportunities at Medical Manufacturing Innovations 2012

Toronto, ON – With the medical and dental device industry booming, the Medical Manufacturing Innovations (MMI Toronto) 2012 conference is gearing up for a more comprehensive-than-ever event. From October 24-25 at the International Centre, Hall 6, in Mississauga, the industry’s who’s who will deliver the latest technologies and solutions in medical and dental device manufacturing, headed off by top-notch speakers on topics that matter to players in Canada’s estimated $7 billion industry. Some of the show highlights include an opening address by Dr. Shaf Keshavjee, the renowned Canadian thoracic surgeon who performed a successful double lung transplant on patient Hélène Campbell earlier this year. He will speak on the topic of Building New Lungs: Biologics and Biomechanic Devices. A keynote address by Dr. Ibraheem Khan, Chief Technology Officer of Smarter Alloys, who will provide a comprehensive review of the past, present and future direction for shape memory alloys (SMAs), an industry that is expected to grow at a rate of 20 per cent a year for the next five years.
