Research ethics panel launches website


Ottawa, ON June 20, 2003 The Interagency Advisory Panel on Research ethics (PRE) has launched a website. The 200 page, interactive site is intended play an important role in further assisting PRE to promote high ethical standards of conduct in research involving humans through the development, evolution, interpretation, and implementation of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS), a guide for those conducting, participating in or reviewing research involving humans.

The Interagency Advisory Panel on Research Ethics (PRE) is a body of external experts established in November 2001 by Canada’s three federal granting agencies (the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council) to support the development and evolution of their joint research ethics policy the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS).
