New facility to support agricultural research


Fredericton, NB – A new research support building being constructed at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Potato Research Centre, in Fredericton. The new facility has received $3.6 million in funding from the federal government.

The building will support field research activities by providing an area for processing soil samples, an area for processing plant samples, and an area for general activities which includes bulk potato storage, space for tuber washing and grading, and space for constructing field instruments.

The facility will be over 1,000 sq m in size and will be known as the Programs Building. It is being constructed on the research centre property behind the main research building. Construction is expected to be completed early in 2007.
