Canadian scientists named Fellows to the Royal Society of Canada


Ottawa, ON July 10, 2003 Thirty-one scientists working in Canada were among 60 new Fellows recently elected to the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Academy of the Sciences and Humanities.

The Fellows are chosen as being dedicated to achieving excellence in their endeavours, and thus enhancing Canada’s competitiveness on a global basis. Fellowship in the Royal Society of Canada is considered Canada’s most prestigious academic accolade to which scholars and scientists aspire.

This year’s new Fellows will be inducted to the society in a ceremony set to take place in Ottawa on Monday, November 24, 2003.
