Call for papers for Pittcon 2004 technical program

Pittsburg, PA June 16, 2003 Pittcon 2004 has issued a call for papers for its technical program. The conference and exhibition will be held in Chicago from March 7-12, 2004. The technical program is intended to highlight areas of interest to conference attendees and exhibitors.

Program chairman, Brian R Strohmeier, PhD, says the goal is to provide a balanced program that showcases cutting-edge technology, innovative research, new products, novel analytical applications and methods, and recent developments in instrument design and laboratory management.

Prospective speakers are invited to submit a 250-word abstract that summarizes their scientific efforts in any of these general areas. The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2003, and details on submitting proposals can be found on Pittcon 2004’s website at www.pittcon.org.

The final abstracts will be available on CD-ROM and in hard copy format during the conference week. In addition, the final abstracts will be posted on the Pittcon website around one week before the conference to allow everyone to plan their session attendance prior to arrival in Chicago.

The technical program will begin on Sunday, March 7, 2004 and will continue through Friday, March 12, 2004. The Sunday kickoff will include workshops, new product forums, and a comprehensive poster session. The traditional mixer will be Sunday evening. The week will continue with awards and other symposia, workshops and contributed oral and poster presentations. To complement the technical program, the conference will also sponsor a variety of short courses beginning on Saturday, March 6, 2004.

Proposals for short courses for the short courses program are also being accepted with a submission deadline of July 1, 2003.
