Neurogenesis Biotech changes name to Stem Cell Therapeutics

Calgary, AB – Biotech company Neurogenesis Biotech has changed its name to Stem Cell Therapeutics. The company is developing therapies to treat significant medical disorders by stimulating a patient’s own stem cells to enhance the body’s inherent ability for self repair.

Earlier this month, the company purchased another company called Stem Cell Therapeutics, in order to strengthen its intellectual property portfolio and broaden its pipeline of therapies in development.

“The name ‘Stem Cell Therapeutics’ more accurately reflects the company’s interest in developing therapies in a variety of medical areas beyond neurological diseases,” says Dr Joseph Tucker, the company’s president and CEO. “This name change also clarifies the organizational structure of the company as the consolidated entity encompasses all of the intellectual property and development programs of both the former Neurogenesis Biotech Corp. and the recently acquired SCT Inc”.
