Health researchers receive total of $273M in funding across Canada


Calgary, AB – A total 793 health research grants worth over $273 million have been allocated across the country. The projects were selected under the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and will be carried out over periods of one to five years.

Provincially, the funding was allocated as follows:

– Alberta: $29.4 million
– BC: $32 million
– Manitoba: $8 million
– New Brunswick: $461,000
– Newfoundland: $515,000
– Nova Scotia: $5 million
– Ontario: $112 million
– PEI: $50,500
– Quebec: $81.5 million
– Saskatchewan: $4 million.
