$2.4M injection for New Brunswick Heart Centre

Saint John, NB – New Brunswick’s provincial government has announced a $2.45-million investment to equip a third cardiac catheterization laboratory at the New Brunswick Heart Centre in Saint John.

The government says it will invest $1.95 million in the third cardiac catheterization laboratory and $500,000 in electrophysiology equipment, for a total capital equipment investment of $2.45 million. The investment is part of New Brunswick’s share of equipment funding resulting from the 10-year health agreement negotiated in 2004 by the federal, provincial and territorial governments.

Cardiac catheterization procedures are used to provide diagnosis and/or treatment of cardiac problems. The new lab will be equipped with imaging cameras as well as cardiac monitoring and support equipment.
