2D photon counting X-ray detector improves diffraction studies

When conducting diffraction studies, it is often useful to augment and enhance the capabilities of your diffractometer with a detector. Rigaku’s HyPix-3000 detector is a two-dimensional semiconductor detector suitable for the home lab diffractionist. This hybrid pixel array detector has a large active area of about 3,000 mm2, a small pixel size of 100 µm2, a high count rate of greater than 106 cps/pixel, a fast readout speed and essential no noise. It offers seamless switiching from 2D-TDI mode to 2D snapshot mode to 1D-TDI mode to 0D mode with a single detector. The device is available as an option for, and improves the capabilities of, the SmartLab diffractometer. Rigaku Corporation
