Rotor mills handle large sample volumes

Improved performance, handling and flexibility are designed into the new generation of SR 300 and SK 300 rotor mills. Benefits include variable rotor speeds, material feed size up to 25mm, quick and easy cleaning, and an optional cyclone for improved material discharge and cooling.

Model SR 300’s rotor beater mill speed has been substantially increased and can now be set between 3,000 and 10,000 rpm, allowing for optimal adaptation to application requirements. Other new features include a removable cassette and push-fit rotor which can be easily taken out for cleaning without using tools, just like the removable hopper. The cassette allows for almost 100% sample recovery. Grinding chamber, feed hopper and material inlet and outlet of this model are made from high-quality stainless steel, making the mill suitable for use in pharmaceutical and food labs.

The model SK 300 cross beater mill now operates at higher speeds, which can be set from 2,000 to 4,000 rpm. Grinding insert and rotor are easily removable.

Both mills can be equipped with an optional cyclone which improves material discharge, particularly for very fine particle sizes, and provides additional cooling of the sample. They are both suitable for applications in the laboratory as well as for small scale production. Retsch GmbH
