Handheld thermometer helps keep food safe

Wireless RTR-601 handheld thermometer and core temperature recorder measures the internal temperature of food items and liquids using an insertion probe. A single press of the REC button allows the user to record not only the temperature, but also the time, date, operator and item IDs and a pre-programmed measurement judgment.

The instrument has a measurement range of -25°C to +235°C and is suitable for both hot and cold readings. Current readings and Go/NoGo judgment results are displayed on an easy to read, backlit LCD Display.

A temperature stabilization algorithm prevents recording until the probe tip temperature has reached a final, steady state value, and the unit can store up to 1,800 data readings before downloading to a LAN over a 900MHz wireless link.

Penetration probes are available in two different lengths and can be attached either directly to the unit or to a handle with a 3 foot cord.

The instrument is designed to be seamlessly integrated into a wireless network with TandD’s RTR-500 series of wireless data loggers, which allows for automated data collection and remote monitoring and management of both warm and cold. Suitable for HACCP-compliance for temperature management related to food safety. TandD Corporation
