New lab provides fuel burning testing services

Toronto, ON – UL, a global safety science organization, has announced the official opening of its newest safety testing facility for appliances and controls in Toronto. This laboratory adds to the organization’s existing service portfolio with a custom-designed safety testing facility. The lab will provide full range testing and certification services for gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances.

“This new state-of-the-art facility was designed to address the growing demand of the gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances industry in Canada,” said Joe Hosey, general manager, UL Canada. “The facility complements our current testing and certification services and we are able to provide Canadian manufacturers full service solutions locally.”

The organization says this is the second of two new combustion testing facilities in the North American market – its first laboratory was opened in Newton, Iowa last November.
