Pharmaceutical company donates $255,000 for respiratory illness research


Quebec City, QC – Alan Davis, vice-president of scientific affairs at Altana Pharma, has announced a $255,000 donation to Laval University to help fund research in the area of respiratory health. The funding will be shared by the Laval Hospital Research Centre and the Groupe de recherche en sant respiratoire de l’Universit Laval (GESER).

Altanas donation encourages innovative research in pneumonology and helps create concrete solutions for respiratory health problems, says Dr Franois Maltais, director of Laval Hospital Pneumonology Research Centre.

The company has donated over $500,000 to Laval University since 2004, with most of the donations going to the Research Centre and to GESER.
