Partnership encourages growth in Alberta’s life sciences sector

Chicago, IL – Johnson & Johnson Corporate Office of Science and Technology (COSAT) and the Alberta government have signed an agreement to explore collaborative opportunities in health research and innovation.

The two groups will assess opportunities for collaboration, funding, management and execution of projects for research and innovation in healthcare and life sciences, with the shared common goal of development and commercialization of technology. A steering committee with representation from Alberta and Johnson & Johnson will source and review prospective projects that could produce improved patient care.

“Collaborations like these are part of our strategy to establish our research presence around the globe,” said Dr Garry Neil, corporate vice president, COSAT, Johnson & Johnson. “Ventures like these will create an opportunity for advancements in innovative research within a talent-rich environment.”
