Innovative projects get $18M funding

Cambridge, ON Twenty research partnerships have been created among colleges, universities and businesses and are being provided with $18 million in funding, through the federal College and Community Innovation (CCI) Program.

The CCI Program is managed by Natural Sciences and Engineering Council of Canada (NSERC), in collaboration with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

“These investments provide businesses with access to the people, resources, and tools at Canada’s colleges that companies need to be at the forefront of innovation,” said Janet Walden, NSERC’s chief operating officer. “The ultimate goal is to create sustainable partnerships that will help sharpen our innovative edge and have a positive impact on the bottom lines for industry and our country.”
