IAFP names bioMrieux as recipient of prestigious award


Des Moines, IA – The International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) says it has selected diagnostic test producer bioMérieux as the 2011 recipient of its prestigious Black Pearl Award. Sponsored by Wilbur Feagan and F & H Food Equipment Company, the award will be presented at IAFP’s Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in August.

The award is given annually to one company for its efforts in advancing food safety and quality through consumer programs, employee relations, educational activities, adherence to standards, and support of the goals and objectives of IAFP.

Headquartered in Marcy l’Etoile, France, bioMérieux has produces in vitro diagnostics. The IAFP says that for more than two decades, the company has been a global leader in providing innovative solutions to address food safety testing issues with a focus that encompasses prevention, detection quality assurance, and nutrition..
