Clean energy research gets $230M funding boost

Ottawa, ON – The federal government has unveiled a $230-million initiative to facilitate the research, development and demonstration of clean-energy technologies.

The ecoEnergy Technology Initiative is intended to foster the next generation of clean technologies to break through to emissions-free energy production and energy use.

Priorities include carbon dioxide sequestration, clean coal, clean oil sands production and renewable energy, and the government says they will be further developed with provinces and industry partners through consultations.
