Chemistry researcher receives innovation award worth $50,000


Halifax, NS – This year’s Dalhousie Innovation Award has been awarded to Dr Mark Stradiotto, a professor in the university’s department of chemistry. Dr Stradiotto’s technology is entitled Developing Transition Metal Catalysts Supported by New Planar-Chiral Metalloligands for Use in Mediating Commercially Relevant Asymmetric Chemical Transformations.

Sponsored by Dalhousie University, the Office of Economic Development for Nova Scotia, the IWK Health Centre and the Capital District Health Authority, the award is intended to encourage and advance innovative research with strong commercial potential. It is valued at $50,000.
