Cancer research institute gets new president


Toronto, ON – Dr Thomas J Hudson has been appointed as president and scientific director of the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research.

“On behalf of the Government of Ontario I would like to congratulate both Dr. Hudson and the OICR on this appointment,” said Premier and Minister of Research and Innovation Dalton McGuinty.” “By attracting and retaining the best and brightest medical researchers, we are strengthening our health care system for all Ontario families and solidifying our international reputation as a leader in the field of medicine.”

The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research is a centre of excellence and is focussed on research in prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and control of cancer. A not-for-profit corporation, it is funded by the Ontario government through its Ministry of Research and Innovation.
