$89M awarded to Canada Research Chairs; $3.7M for infrastructure


Ottawa, ON – The federal government has announced support for 102 new and renewed Canada Research Chairs at 33 post-secondary institutions across the country. The funding total for this round is $88.8 million.

At the same time, the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) announced $3,671,032 in new funding for research infrastructure that will support the latest appointments to the Canada Research Chairs program. The funds will be used to equip these academics with state-of-the-art infrastructure that will enable them to conduct world-class research.
