$348 million in CIHR funding for health research projects


Toronto, ON – The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) has announced the recipients from across Canada of 1,633 health research grants worth over $348 million for a range of projects.

“I take tremendous pleasure in seeing how CIHR’s programs are supporting talented and committed Canadian researchers in all areas of health and how their research is leading to important new findings that will benefit all of us,” says Dr Janet Rossant, member of the CIHRs governing council.

Composed of 13 institutes, the CIHR provides support to more than 10,000 health researchers and trainees across Canada. More information is available at http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca.
