Executive appointments part of VWR reorganization

West Chester, PA – June 14, 2004 – Scientific supply distributor VWR International has appointed two senior executives as part of a repositioning process that follows its acquisition earlier this year by a fund managed by private investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.

Edward Orzetti has assumed the position of president of the company’s global lab business and Jack Wyszomierski has been appointed as chief financial officer.

Mr Orzetti has served in senior management positions with leading global companies, including General Electric where he oversaw the operations for several businesses, and later had responsibility for supply chain management. He served as a senior consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton and began his career with Johnson & Johnson. Since 2000, he was with Textron, most recently as president of the fluid & power group.

Mr Wyszomierski will have responsibility for VWR’s financial operations. Since 1982, he has worked at pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough, most recently as executive vice president and chief financial officer.

“We are appointing a number of individuals as we develop a stronger organization as we continue to build shareholder value, enhance profitability and implement our growth initiatives,” says Walter Zywottek, president and chief executive officer of VWR International.
